Powercore on a touchscreen PC?

The thought crossed my mind about building a dedicated Powercore machine. Ive got an Express & 3 PCI cards, and most of the plugins. Basically this would be a Win 7 or Win 10 PC, with a MOTU 2408 feeding ADAT back and forth to my primary machine's DAW. The PC would have a multi-touch screen and would basically be either a 16 or 24 track Powercore processing system.

Kind of like a poor-man's System6000.

Curious if anyone has ever used Powercore plugins with a touchscreen PC, and how well they work this way?

PCI Expansion Box with Powercore PCIs?

Hi,
I need to upgrade my PC after my socket 1150 based system gave up the ghost. I think that was the last generation of motherboards with multiple PCI slots. I don't know what I'll end up with yet, but it probably won't have PCI slots.

I'm considering the below Exsys expansion system:
https://www.integrate-computer.de/epage … ts/EX-1032
along with their PCIe adapter and cable.
I understand that this system doesn't use drivers because it's based on the standard PCIe / PCI bridge that the O/S supports. I want to run 4 PCI pocos.

So I'm reaching out to the community here for any advice that can be offered around this.
Does anyone have one of these working in this way, or is there another off the shelf system known to work?
Is the 220 watt PSU enough for 4 Powercores?

Thanks,
Roger

How to get TC Powercore to work in Yosemite

Hi all, after upgrading to Yosemite my Powercore refused to be recognised in OS X 10.10 but after trawling the net I found a workaround and now it works fine, you will have to launch Terminal and add some code but it's pretty straight forward.

1. Launch Terminal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and copy and paste the line below and hit 'enter' (you may have to type in your Admin password first)

sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"

2. Reboot and then launch Terminal once more and then copy and paste the text below and hit 'enter':

sudo kextcache -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions

3. Wait for it to finish doing its stuff then reboot once more and hey presto, your Powercore is no longer obsolete!

PowerCore PCI with OSX High Sierra

Hi,
I'm new in this forum and have a question about PC PCI and PCIMkII with OSX High Sierra. I installed the last driver 4.5 beta 72 and the PC Control-app works but it doeen't show the cards.
My system: Hackintosh with i7 Quadcore, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. The motherboard (Gigabyte P67A) has two PCI slots for the PC cards. Before I upgraded to 10.13.6 I worked with 10.6.8 and the cards worked very well.
Do you have a solution for my problem ?
Thanks :-))

How to protect the power supply against over voltages or surge voltages?

Ideal setup?

Hi!

For years I've been running my whole system on early 2011 MacBook Pro, 2.2GHz with 8GB RAM and proper SSD. The system has worked flawlessly. Don't know why but past couple of months it happens so that when I use Powercore Firewire plugins, then the whole sound gets glitchy and nothing really helps. It used to run smoothly but now doesn't. Anything in the setup hasn't changed except monitor speakers, but that's not the cause of the problems. So I've been thinking that I need to change my DAW computer. I use Logic Pro X. Other hardware besides Poco are: Motu 828 mk2 firewire + 8ch over ADAT, Virus TI Snow running audio over USB (this wasn't even connected when problems arised, 6ch of audio), Elektron Analog Rytm (which I wish I could run over USB too - 8ch of audio).
I have couple of machines in mind: mac pro 5.1, mac pro 6.1 (using with tb-fw adapters) or perhaps new quad core 13" macbook pro. Any idea which system could work fine?
+ I have thunderbolt display, which has firewire ports and extra thunderbolt port, so any machine really suits. It's just that it must handle all the bandwith.
