Powercore and Windows 10

I've upgraded to Windows 10, everything worked fine.

After many weeks of use, the Powercore was no longer detected by the OS. Turning the Powercore off and on worked only once (it was recognised again by OS).

The powercore (Firewire) lights up fine on the unit.

Suspecting it's a cable or software issue, I ordered a new Firewire cable (today). I also decide to update to the latest software (today).

I uninstalled the TC Electronic Powercore from my system  and installed version 4.4.3, 64bit.

The software appears to install fine, but, I no longer have a Powercore control panel. Within W10, I click on All programs, and expand TC Electronic and I see 4 items, none of which is the software.

Where is the TC Powercore Control Panel?

Anyone on El Capitan?

The well-known kext signature workaround (by setting kexts into developer mode) seems to refuse working on El Capitan, even if on Yosemite it worked. Has anyone a new workaround or is it the absolutely last death date of all times for my compact??:-(

Powerecore with Bitwig?

I'm very disappointed as I've been using poco with Ableton and Reaper perfectly for years now.

I add the bright new DAW Bitwig into the mix and it suffers CPU spikes, audio glitches and crashes only when there are poco plugin instances. (I mainly use poco for VSS3 and multiple Virus)

I've used the plugins with Jbridge (necessary in Ableton) but also in Reaper providing excellent trouble free performance.

In Bitwig with both Jbridge as well as the native bit-bridge it is unusable.

I think the older DAWs have had a long time to perfect their plugin hosting capabilities. Not so with Bitwig and I am not hopeful that they will ever be in a position to support the powercore properly.

Has anyone had success with poco on Bitwig?

(Btw: I'm on Win7x64 with Poco Unplugged, PCIexp, and X8)

Request to make TC Effects Standalone

Hi there!!
I don't know how popular this idea is, but wouldn't it be a simple matter for TC to make stand alone versions of the TC Powercore effects that do not require the PCI Card or Firewire Interface to operate?

My PCI Board and Firewire Interface (yes I have both) will not last forever, and support is discontinued. I would happily pay for stand alone versions of the original plugins!!

I especially love MegaReverb, ClassicVerb, and MasterX and would love to be able to use them forever. If you feel the same way, please post your agreement below, and let's see if we can get TC to do this!!

Powercore Plugins disabled problem

Hello,

I have switched to new PC with 64 bit Windows 8.1 recently and having a problem with PoCo plugins, here's my situation:
I have 3 PoCo installed (2x PCI +1 PCIe) + Focusrite Liquid Mix 32 on separate PCIE FireWire card. My motherboard is ASUS Z97-C, sequencer - Ableton Live 9 32bit. Powercore's updated with the latest software, tried  unofficial PowerCore 4.5 beta 64 as well.
When I'm loading a few first plugins it's working without any problems, but when l'm trying to load more then 4-5, the new ones becomes DISABLED, although the PowerCore control pannel is showing that there's a plenty of DSP available and all these plugins are Licensed. Sometimes it also starts to distort (especially on VSS3 or Filtroid).
Removing or freezing tracks with already loaded plugins helps to load the new ones at times, but usually I have to export it as a separate track and open in a new project if I want to add more plugins to my tracks, which is annoying, because I have spent a lot of money on buying an additional plugins and got used to work with them.
Has anybody experienced the similar problem or could imagine, where the problem is? Maybe it's a trouble between my PoCo and Liquid Mix? Any info would be very welcome.

I have added a screenshot of what it looks like
PS.:  I have used the same setupt without any problems in my older PC With Windows XP without any problems.

Thanks in advance,
D.

PCIes in OSX 10.10 & 11?

Hi guys,

just a quick question, is the kext workaround from 10.8.4 to use PCIe cards still viable in OSX 10.10 and 11? Im sure there's other trickery involved just curious if it *can* work or if having those kexts loaded will cause KPs right off the bat.

my jaw is gaping and the drool is pooling over reading about these new samsung m2 NVMe SSDs... but I need something newer than 10.9 mavericks to take advantage of them.

check out these test results from ars technica, this is from a *SINGLE* drive...

Powercore PCI & Virus

I have Poco PCI with VIRUS. However, I do not have the backup license software for it anymore. Quite frustrating.

Is there really no way to get it or renew it? I would gladly pay a fee for the download link.

Contacted TC support, but unfortunately to no avail.

Still in hopes,
Oskars

Buying an unplugged mkII w virus and v-station, how to get more?

Dear All,

Looking into buying the above for EUR 100. I checked out what the software is that you can dl for mkII from tc electronic is, and see that there´s a bunch of plugins there in the .msi file. But I assume that these are just expiring trials, or..?

I´m not really after the v-station nor the virus, so I was thinking that maybe I can swap the licenses for these items with something else later, if there´s somebody around here not using their EQ´s, comps, verbs etc. Would that be possible? The guy selling it to me says he´s got the license on a USB key, and that it cannot be transfered to my name. That´s not a big deal for me, as long as I can use the plugins, but are people accepting to swap plugins with eachother, carrying different owner names that cannot be changed - is that common?

Thanks!

POCO Firewire on Yosemite with Live 9.2 64bit

Hi There.
I have an original POCO FW that I'm currently running on an iMac OSX 10.6.8
I've been reading with interest about being able to run POCO on Yosemite.
I'm running Live 9.2.3 64bit on a late 2013 Macbook Pro OSX 10.10.5
I've downloaded the unofficial 4.5 beta driver.
Is this 64bit compatibile or will I need a

Utilizing Poco Express PCIe plugins with Poco Unplugged PCI

Dear All,

I just bought a Poco Express PCIe, which for your information works fine under Win 7 and Win 10 64 bit using the last official drivers from TC. It´s not working with the unofficial drivers found here in the forum. Those will tell me that the plugins are not properly installed, and I get to see nothing of the poco properties.

Anyway, to my question:

If I buy an Unplugged version of the Powercore (which comes with no plugins) can I then use the plugins that I have on the Express version on it, or would I need to purchase them one more time in order to be able to use them on both cards?

Thanks

Best Regards

does anyone have a direct email address for support??

Hi, in the past I have registered my Powercore X8  to my account. I am now going to sell this device, but it seems I can't get into the account where it was registered. The funny thing is I am chasing my tail trying to get word to customer support, because they require my password and email address...

can anyone pitch in here, perhaps the mods?

How much RAM is on a Powercore PCI MKII card?

How much RAM is on a Powercore PCI MKII card?

From the PCI MKII. manual:- "512k Word SRAM per DSP" .

128k Word = 384 KB.

So 4 x 512k Word = 2048k Words in total (4 DSPs per card).

2048k Words = 6144 KB.

6144 KB = 0.005859375 GB.

So I make that 0.005859375 GB per card - which seems too small an amount to me Image may be NSFW.

hmm
.

I am asking this as I am trying to work out how much system RAM each card is reserving for address space.  I am currently using Windows XP (3GB RAM onboard) with 2xPowercore MKII cards, 2xNvidia GeForce 8400GS graphics cards (512MB each) and 2 Scope Pro cards.  So probably losing the use of quite a bit of RAM.  Getting RAM warnings before my CPU reaches 30%.  Will upgrade to 64bit but just want to check out all my available options which include upgrading the OS, buying a new PC and keeping the current one for the DSP cards and everything inbetween.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

yikes

my express has started acting up... seeing this message over and over in my logs...
