Hi there,

I see from the forum that the interest for the platform is slowly fading, and, yes, it's on the natural side of things.

The 'unlock petition' is there, even if it isn't going to happen.

Hey TC guys, I know it has been discussed various times already, but why don't you do a final sale for licenses, even at symbolic prices (let's say, 20$ - 30$ or whatever per plugin), with us accepting no support on the plugs?

That would allow people who still love their powercores (as me) to get the missing licences and keep using their beloved powercore.

please (?) smile

Powercore 6000 help needed with 10.9.5 Mavericks

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my newly purchased Powercore 6000 running properly on my system. I have yet to register it as I am waiting on the seller to sort out a few account issues, I don't think this would impact the below but it may??

Anyway, I have been reading through the forum over the last few days but I think I may be confusing myself as I've read multiple threads with multiple suggestions so I thought it was about time to ask if I have missed anything obvious?

My system specs should show up in my signature below (this is my first post), if they dont I'll post them immediately after this goes live. (

As suggested above I suspect this may very well be down to my own nooby ignorance (and if so apologies) but I will document what I have done/tried so far and then list the current issues below that just in case any of it is relevant:

I first installed the latest officially supported software 4.3.3.
Then I connected the 6000 to my 2009 Mac Pro following the specific suggested order in the manual.
I then tried it and ran into a fair amount of buggyness (see below)
Since then I have also tried various later versions of the software found here posted by Hagen finally arriving at the current 4.5.0b64 version.
I have also ran the kext procedure for El Capitan, not entirely if that was necessary (or wise) for Mavericks but I thought I'd give it a go first before posting here.
Reset from the control panel along the way

On a previously rock solid system the Powercore seems to have introduced some significant instability to my system and the specifics (that I can remember and that may or may not be relevant) are:

Logic Pro X generally reacting much slower to many previously fine actions
Logic Host CPU increasing on addition of each Powercore Plugin (buffer Multiplier Options used)
GUI bugs, when the plugin is moved around the screen the actual plugin GUI lags the Audio Unit frame it is housed in. Actually separating and coming back together a split second later. Also the Audio Unit frames of background TC plugins disappear on launch of additional TC plugins
General plugin response weirdness
DSP's loading in the order 5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4
Audio dropouts that only resolve on stopping and starting playback. (EDIT: Please ignore this line as it was a simply midi issue that's now resolved).

I'm sure there are a few others, but I'd like to hear from those in the know before I start tinkering with my previously stable system.

Thanks in advance.

KB904412 wanted !

Hi All,

I'm having an installation issue with PowerCore Firewire on XP (I'll maybe write about this in another post),  TC support suggested me to get the Microsoft KB904412 update, I'm not exactly sure what that is, but it's no longer available at Microsoft.com sad  .. and TC support doesn't have it either.

Since (at least, on my laptop)  Powercore Firewire worked OK with XP (and did NOT work with Windows 7),  I'd prefer to somehow try to fix this installation issue (hopefully with the KB904412) on XP.

Anyone has this fix/update saved on his/her computer / hard drives / archives ?

Thank you,

Powercore plugins stopped working, event viewer pop up with errors

Greetings, I'm running a Powercore x8 with v4.4.3 software under Windows 7 64-bit. It has been working flawlessly without problems for years. Suddenly since a couple of days ago I can't load any of the powercore plugins regardless of host. They open disabled and at the same time Windows "event Viewer" is brought to front and showing errors.

I haven't done any changes to the system around when the problem occured. Looking at the "Event Viewer" logs the problem appeard on March 27. My system had made a system restore point just Before the "Daylight saving time change", and since then Powercore stopped working.

I've tried re-installing the powercore software without luck. The Powercore Control Panel is working as normal showing Connection to my x8 hardware and available plugins, but plugins just don't load correctly.

I've connected the Powercore x8 hardware to an older computer where I ran the Powercore system before, and it works there still, plugins load as they should, so it does not seem to be any hardware error with my x8.

I've tried Everything I can Think of from trying different Firewire drivers, trying older versions of the powercore software. Is there anybody that have had a similar problem and solved it? Appreciate any suggestions for a solution or to what might have happened.

Error messages from the event viewer logs on my main studio computer:

"Virus PowerCore    Internal Error [E0000002] occured.    If the problem persists, please contact TC Support."

"PowerCore/X8s: msg:400001f(proc:0) result:e0000002(proc:0)

Thanks

Warning on latest Windows 10 major update (1607)

So, i did the BIG update that is rolling out those days.

Everything went smooth but the usual problems with every major update:

-The firewire driver is automatically changed into the (whatever chipset you firewire is based) one;
-The powercore(s) aren't recognized anymore and under 'system' we find a generic I2O device without a driver.

No sweat.

Just go to your firewire device and select back the legacy driver.
For the powercore, just set the I2O device for new drivers, select 'have a disk' and browse to the folder where your powercore drivers are (in my case C:\Program Files\TC Electronic\Powercore) and everything goes back to normal.

Cheers.

PoCo *Seems* to be overloading Logic (and general queries)

Hi All, (edited to add and number queries)

Having spent some time now using PoCo and Logic X with Terminal hack, im over all happy, but there are some niggles, that are turning into a pain in the ass and *seem* to be getting worse (although i am working on more complex projects these days)!

1) there is some GUI bugs, like dragging around the page, leaving the menu window behind! but nothing i cant deal with. if there is a solution to this though, id like to know.

2) Also, automation is majorly laggy. any one else seen this?

3) sometimes when loading a project I get error messages re. too many plugs running, but it was waorking last time i closed it.

4) Sometime when i open a project, the playhead moves but no sound, this can be fixed by bypassing TC plugs. other times i hear a crackly/glitchy mess and/or tones When i close and re open it plays again!

5) I keep getting system overload messages with relatively low usage (during a mastering project for example) and my Logic usage meter shows all cores and threads at max. bypass my Poco plugs and the meter reads virtually no CPU usage. It wasn't doing this a few months ago and im not sure im doing anything different.
I have tried playing with the PoCo settings, but I notice no change.

quite often turning the PoCo off and on again helps with 3, 4 and 5 too....

Anyone experiencing any of these?

Thanks
